The Child and Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Program for ADHD, a division of East End Psychological Services, said it provides testing and treatment for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) across the lifespan.

In a release, the group noted that the Program is dedicated to diagnosing and treating attention and learning problems in child, adolescent and adult populations.

“The proper identification of people with ADHD is crucial to the process of assisting them in the school setting, workplace and community. Despite several years of research supporting ADHD as a genetic and biologically based condition, many dismiss symptoms as an excuse or avoidance tactic,” explains Dr. Stacey Devaux, Psychologist, who is a Coordinator of the Program. “ADHD affects millions of children and adults, many of whom are never properly diagnosed. When we utilize empirically derived, scientifically proven measures to assess for ADHD, we are in an excellent position to intervene and help these individuals maximize their potential.”

Staff psychologists begin the evaluative process by obtaining detailed background information. Next, clients are tested for executive skills such as attention span, self-control, working memory and organizational abilities
